Job summary

RTX, Collins Aerospace Environmental Effects Engineering, seeks an Electrical Engineer to support nuclear radiation survivability testing. You will plan, execute and document radiation characterization tests for electronics used in radio and display systems, including TID, NDD, DR, and SEE.

Expect to work across lifecycles with cross-disciplinary teams and travel up to 25%. You will help prepare technical documentation, contribute to design reviews, and advise on risk mitigation while pushing

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in STEM and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with 5+ years experience.
  • Electrical testing experience: test design, troubleshooting, executing test plans, analysis and writing test reports.
  • Circuit design: analyzing circuits, using schematic capture tools, PCB layout/design, and providing board design guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, test and troubleshoot electrical hardware.
  • Evaluate radiation response of semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, DC/DC converters, FPGAs, DDR memory).
  • Develop test plans and reports; lead programs through test procedures within cost and schedule constraints.
  • Execute radiation effects testing events with external facilities (up to 25% travel).
