Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) to support the NSFH Facility during construction and turnover. You will perform design reviews, system walkdowns, and subcontractor requirement reviews while learning the facility's electrical design and providing contractor oversight across multiple phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related technical field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree with 1 year of relevant experience; or currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering support during NSFH Facility construction, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Perform design reviews, system walkdowns, and subcontractor requirement reviews.
  • Learn facility electrical design details and provide contractor oversight through design, construction, installation, commissioning and turnover.
  • Opportunity to lead small teams as experience grows.
