Job summary

Flowtec Group in Boston is looking for an Electrical Engineer to lead power, building systems design across mission critical and life sciences projects. You’ll own the full lifecycle from concept to closeout in a collaborative, client-facing role.

The position offers a genuine equity stake through an ESOP, a transparent path to leadership, student debt repayment support, and a structured hybrid work environment. PE exam support and ongoing training are provided in a reputable, 30+ year practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of electrical building systems design in an MEP consulting environment.
• Experience across lab, healthcare, mission critical or high-performance buildings.
• Proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD and power systems analysis software (SKM/ETAP/EasyPower).
• Lighting design tools such as AGi32 or Visual.
• Strong client-facing ability; PE not required but supported if pursued.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across mission critical, life sciences, healthcare and academic projects.
• Own full project lifecycle: concept, design, specification, construction administration, closeout.
• Design power distribution—service entrance, switchgear, switchboards, transformers, feeders, branch circuits.
• Perform load, short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
• Design emergency/standby power: generators, ATS, UPS, paralleling switchgear.
• Develop lighting design with photometric calculations.
• Conduct NEC/Massachusetts Electrical Code, NFPA 110, NFPA 99, NFPA 72 analysis.
• Serve as primary client/architect/contractor contact.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and technology teams.
• QA/QC and mentoring of junior engineers.
