Job description

Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain single mode fiber optic systems
Design, evaluate, and integrate new electrical and electronic systems in an R&D environment

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 14 years of experience, or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 12 years of experience, or PhD in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 10 years of experience
Extensive knowledge of single mode fiber optic cable systems, including cable types, connectors, termination methods, and installation and maintenance best practices
Hands‑on experience installing, testing, and verifying single mode fiber optic systems using established shipyard methods and standards
Effective working relationship with shipyard crafts performing fiber optic work
Strong background in the design and testing of new electrical and electronic equipment
Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and testing of motor controllers
U.S. citizenship required
Must be able to work on-site; position is not eligible for telework
