Job summary

SpaceX in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Launch Infrastructure (Starship) to lead the electrical project team and deliver critical power systems for orbital launch infrastructure.

You will collaborate with engineers and contractors, design and document electrical systems, coordinate with utilities, manage contracts, and support field teams through construction and activation of power distribution equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
2+ years of experience in the design or build of building infrastructure electrical systems.
Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac).
Understanding of medium voltage system design and construction.
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and IBC codes.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical project team, consulting engineers and contractors through the electrical engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process.
Work directly with internal and external customers to determine electrical requirements/needs and wants.
Assist in the development of drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects.
Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through close-out.
Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time.
Coordinate with the electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure.
Provide support and direction to electricians and technicians during the construction and activation of power distribution equipment.
Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders.
