Job summary

SpaceX in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the Starship Launch Pad to design, build, and support electrical systems that power and control launch infrastructure, including the pad, tower, propellant farm, and ground support equipment.

As part of the Launch Engineering team you will collaborate with mechanical, controls, and fluid systems groups to deliver reliable power distribution, electrical panels, schematics, and field installation, commissioning, and testing at site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 1+ year of design, build, or commissioning of electrical systems.
• Experience with power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and UL 508A.
• Experience designing electrical systems for hazardous locations (Class I).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for Starship launch pad systems, including power distribution and supporting infrastructure.
• Design industrial electrical control panels and power distribution systems per NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with utilities and internal teams to ensure reliable power delivery to critical launch pad equipment.
• Provide real-time field support during construction, activation, and testing to resolve design and installation issues.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, review work, and ensure safety and design intent compliance.
• Perform electrical studies including load calculations, short circuit, and arc flash analysis.
• Design electrical systems for hazardous (classified) areas common to launch pad environments.
