• Travel to customer sites for diagnosis and repairs as needed.

Skills

Proficient in basic power theory

Knowledge of operations of induction and synchronous motors

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Services_AME team in the United States.

The individual in this position will split their time between the engineering team objectives, field service, field service reports, and shop engineering support. This role involves hands-on responsibilities along with other engineering tasks. Training will be provided as part of the onboarding process.

Job Requirements

• Preferred 0–4 years of experience in electrical engineering, including:
• Electric motor, generator repairs and design
• Transformer repair and design
• Switchgear design and diagnostics
• Power semiconductors

• Proficient in basic power theory
• Knowledge in the following topics:
• Operations of induction and synchronous motors
• Transformer principles
• Operation of semiconductors
• Winding insulation tests

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and assistance to customers both via phone and on-site
• Perform unplanned on-site services and troubleshooting on electrical installations, including motors and generators
• Conduct planned preventive maintenance on electrical machines using appropriate tools
• Review engineering documents related to projects to develop project roadmaps
• Adhere to all safety, environmental policies, and ISO procedures
• Manage tasks assigned by operational leaders
• Develop innovative processes and procedures using latest technologies
• Participate in weekly production meetings
• Develop field service procedures for various fault scenarios
• Maintain accurate project notes and furnish reports post-project or as requested
• Communicate progress with operational leaders and team members
• Respond promptly to customer requests and resolve issues efficiently
• Participate in quick response team to provide timely service and updates
• Coordinate with shop projects and learn repair procedures from senior colleagues
• Communicate customer directives regarding project milestones
• Be enthusiastic about expanding technical expertise
• Travel to customer sites for diagnosis and repairs as needed
