Job summary

Winchester Ammunition is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Independence, MO. The intern will support maintenance and production with reliability, design, and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The role may serve as the engineering representative on small capital projects from justification through installation and requires full-time availability during rotation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; official transcript required each term.
• Sophomore year completed (60 credits) before first rotation.
• Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) during rotation; not eligible for virtual work.
• ITAR data access requires export license.
• U.S. citizenship; on-site at Independence, MO; no onsite non-U.S. citizens.
• Winchester does not provide sponsorship; must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, defined at rotation start.
• Provide reliability leadership for instruments and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and data analysis
• Support maintenance in development of policies and procedures for preventative and predictive maintenance
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements related to the production of small caliber ammunition
