Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Independence, MO. You will work on reliability, design, and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Role includes leading multiple hands-on projects, data analysis, and involvement in small capital projects with ITAR considerations. Requires US citizenship and full-time availability during rotation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree.
• GPA 3.0+ on a 4.0 scale; official transcript each term.
• Sophomore year completed (60 credits) before first rotation.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States for site access at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.
• Must be available full-time (40 hours/week) during rotation; no remote work.
• ITAR controlled data access requires clearance and vetting.

Responsibilities

• Lead at least three hands-on projects during the rotation.
• Provide reliability leadership for instruments and electrical systems; troubleshoot and analyze data.
• Support maintenance with development of preventative and predictive maintenance policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements in small caliber ammunition production.
