Job summary

Dennis Group seeks an Electrical Engineer Intern to support the Building Electrical Group in Springfield, MA, starting Summer 2027. You will assist with designing building power, lighting, fire alarm and low voltage systems for food and beverage facilities, with a focus on calculations, vendor vetting, and bid document production.

The role requires students in electrical engineering with 3.0+ GPA, familiarity with NEC, and 25% travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or above required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design building electrical systems including power distribution 208V/480V.
• Compute short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load calculations.
• Prepare bid documents and drawings (layouts, risers, schedules).
• Assist in electrical bid process and coordination with trades.
• Support department standard development and vendor evaluation.
