Job summary
Dennis Group's Building Electrical Group seeks a student in electrical engineering to assist the design and delivery of electrical systems for food and beverage facilities. You will help with power distribution, lighting, NFPA-compliant fire alarm design, and low voltage services, while coordinating with vendors and other trades on multiple projects.
The role offers exposure to calculations, CAD workflows, and NEC/NFPA standards, with potential for growth and hands-on field insight.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Familiarity with three phase power, NEC, wireless/radio systems, fire and security systems, and LAN cabling is a plus.
- GPA 3.0 or above; MS Office proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for building power distribution (208V, 480V, medium voltage) for industrial facilities.
- Document calculations: short circuit, arc flash, load, conductor sizing, etc.
- Maintain and organize project documents; manage time and commitments.
- Assist in designing lighting, fire alarm systems per NFPA 72/101 and local codes, and low voltage systems.
- Produce bid documents including drawings, layouts, schedules, and specifications.
