Job summary

Dennis Group in Salt Lake City is seeking a Building Electrical intern to assist with electrical design for food processing facilities. You will contribute to calculating power loads, selecting equipment, and vetting vendors as part of a design-build team.

The role supports project scoping, documentation, and coordination with other trades, while developing practical experience in NFPA and NEC guidelines and low-voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• GPA 3.0 or above.
• MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for building power, including normal, emergency, and standby distribution.
• Document calculations (short circuit, coordination, arc flash, sizing).
• Maintain project document organization and deadlines.
• Understand Ohm's law, power system theory, and 3-phase power.
• Develop lighting and low voltage designs for facilities.
• Assist in bid processes and project planning.
