Job description

Join to apply for the Electrical Engineer/Inspector role at Meinhardt Group.

This position is based in Aurora, CO, and reports to their client. The role involves overseeing electrical systems during construction to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review electrical drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and submittals for code compliance and constructability.
  2. Conduct field inspections and witness testing of electrical systems and installations.
  3. Verify materials and equipment match approved submittals.
  4. Maintain detailed inspection reports with photographs and notes.
  5. Track non-conformance items and follow up on corrective actions.
  6. Assist with turnover documentation, punch lists, and close-out packages.
  7. Monitor installation quality against project standards and codes.
  8. Support electrical system testing, grounding, bonding, and safety procedures.
  9. Collaborate with QA/QC, commissioning, and safety teams for system handover.
  10. Coordinate with subcontractors for testing and inspections.
  11. Support project scheduling and electrical cost control.
  12. Participate in meetings to support design and construction.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or inspection, preferably in industrial construction.
  3. PE license preferred or in progress.
  4. CEI or similar certification is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and local codes.
  6. Experience with electrical testing procedures.
  7. Proficiency with construction management and inspection tools.
  8. Strong documentation and communication skills.
