Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join our hybrid team. You will own complex assignments, mentor junior engineers, and represent the firm to clients from day one.

This well-established, multi-discipline firm delivers high-impact design across healthcare, education, government, and corporate sectors, with expertise in MEP, commissioning, intelligent building systems, security, and lighting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, or Communications Engineering is required.
  • 6+ years of progressive AEC industry experience.
  • Licensure/certification preferred (PE, CPD, FPE, RCDD), or 15+ years' experience in lieu of license.
  • Expertise across multiple engineering software platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of codes, standards, and QA/QC processes.
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.
  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate tasks and provide guidance to team members.
  • Lead discipline-specific design for medium to large projects with limited Revit use.
  • Review and direct complex designs, calculations, and simulations.
  • Review complex submittals and shop drawings.
  • Respond to complex RFIs.
  • Conduct targeted site visits to resolve critical issues.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings, offering high-level technical input.
  • Ensure project delivery meets schedule and budget targets.
  • Support workplan development and adjust for scope/schedule changes.
