Job summary

DSC Dredge, LLC. is seeking an Electrical Engineer II or III for our Reserve, LA headquarters. The role requires strong NEC knowledge, power systems expertise, and the ability to interpret and create drawings, plans, and specifications.

Occasional travel to off-site locations is possible. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience, with opportunity to contribute to a world-class dredge manufacturing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in equipment selection and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Select and specify electrical equipment (MCCs, VFDs, motors, transformers, switchgear).
  • Evaluate equipment options for performance, cost, quality, and project needs.
  • Collaborate with clients, PMs and engineers to design electrical systems meeting specs.
  • Prepare equipment specs, data sheets, and purchase requisitions.
  • Review supplier proposals and drawings for compliance with standards.
  • Support FATs and assist during installation, commissioning, startup.
  • Conduct site visits and recommend improvements or replacements.
  • Perform load, short-circuit, voltage drop, and motor starting calculations.
  • Develop and review electrical drawings and schematics in AutoCAD.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
