Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace division in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design digital hardware for high-performance computing products used in commercial avionics. You will support product recertification, identify cost savings, troubleshoot field equipment, and collaborate with OEMs to resolve issues while ensuring manufacturability and reliability across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design circuit/board layout to support product lifecycle.
• Support product recertification (TSO or PMA) driven by changes.
• Extract cost savings solutions to the standard cost of the product.
• Support production to achieve on-time delivery goals.
• Resolve product issues and technical inquiries from OEM customers.
• Troubleshoot returned equipment from field or OEM assembly line.
• Evaluate product part change notifications (obsolete/end of life).
• Evaluate designs for Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT).
• Requirements capture, tracing, and verification.
