Job summary

PPL Electric Utilities invites applications for multiple engineering positions spanning Engineer I through Principal Engineer within its transmission, distribution, and utilization domains. Under supervision you will perform planning, design, and oversight of electrical systems and related facilities.

Positions range from entry to senior levels, requiring ABET-accredited degrees and increasing years of engineering experience. You may contribute to projects improving grid reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Engineer I requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Engineer II requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology plus 2 years of engineering experience.
• Engineer III requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology plus 5 years of engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering plus 3 years of engineering experience, or a PhD in Engineering plus 2 years of engineering experience.
• Principal Engineer requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology plus 10 years of engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering plus 8 years of engineering experience, or a PhD in Engineering plus 7 years of engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, designing, and overseeing construction, installation, operation and maintenance of components, systems and facilities.
• Builds relationships to facilitate knowledge transfer across related work groups and present work products effectively.
• Works under supervision in field and/or home office across a range of functions to develop competencies.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using defined procedures and may include routine testing of components and systems.
• Continuously expands technical and business skills with guidance from others.
• Assists in developing innovative procedures, improved design recommendations, or new equipment purchase recommendations.
