Job summary
PPL Electric Utilities in Pennsylvania seeks an Engineer at multiple levels to support planning, design, and construction of transmission, distribution, and utilization systems. Under supervision, you will perform engineering work on defined projects and gain exposure to field and office environments.
Positions range from Engineer I to Principal Engineer, with progression based on degree and years of engineering experience.
Qualifications
- ABET Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
- ABET Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology plus 2 years of engineering experience. Utility system operator experience will also be counted as engineering experience.
- ABET Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology plus 5 years of engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering plus 3 years of engineering experience, or a PhD in Engineering plus 2 years of engineering experience. Utility system operator experience will also be counted as engineering experience.
- ABET Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology plus 10 years of engineering experience, or a master’s degree in engineering plus 8 years of engineering experience, or a PhD in Engineering plus 7 years of engineering experience. Utility system operator experience will also be counted as engineering experience for this position.
Responsibilities
- Assists in work on smaller engineering projects or well-defined areas of larger projects and uses existing procedures for designs and recommendations.
- Builds relationships to facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-functional coordination.
- Works under supervision in field and/or home office to develop competencies in the function.
