Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Charlottesville is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to help clients achieve energy-efficient building solutions and greener futures.

You will start under the guidance of experienced engineers, performing load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and field surveys. As you gain project experience, you will lead electrical project teams, write specifications, participate in client meetings, and support construction-phase work, contributing to AEI’s

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE/BSAE degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• EIT certification (FE) a plus.
• Internship experience in MEP consulting preferred.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer I in our Charlottesville office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Here’s Why We Need You

In this role, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers and will yourself help to mentor designers. Your initial assignments will include performing load calculations, determining system sizing and layouts, calculating equipment sizes, selecting equipment, completing field surveys, and reviewing equipment shop drawings. As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in leading electrical project teams, writing specifications, participating in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and supporting construction-phase work.

Expertise Of Our Most Successful Electrical Engineer I

• BSEE/BSAE from ABET accredited school in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
• EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.
