Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Chapel Hill seeks an Electrical Engineer I to contribute to energy-efficient building solutions.

You will be mentored by veteran engineers and progressively lead electrical project teams while expanding your technical and client-facing skills. Qualifications

  • BSEE/BSAE from ABET accredited school in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
  • Non-academic internship.
  • Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
  • Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, calculate equipment sizes, select equipment, complete field surveys, and review equipment shop drawings.
  • Lead electrical project teams, write specifications, participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and support construction-phase work as you gain project experience.

As an Electrical Engineer I in our Chapel Hill office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Here’s Why We Need You

In this role, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers and will yourself help to mentor designers.
