Job summary

Sydor Technologies in Fairport, NY is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on specialized imaging, measurement, and instrumentation tech used in scientific research and defense.

You will design, test, and iterate analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, create schematics, and support PCB layout. Collaboration with scientists and engineers drives product development from concept to working hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with electronic testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small engineering team.
• Experience with FPGA interfaces, embedded systems, C/C++, Python, or high-speed electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot analog and digital electronic circuits.
• Create schematics and support PCB layout and design.
• Test, debug, and validate electronic prototypes and existing products.
• Support improvements and updates to existing designs, including component substitutions.
• Work closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians on product development and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, schematics, and design records.
• Support system integration, testing, and ongoing product improvements.
