Job summary

Sydor Technologies in Fairport, NY is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on specialized imaging, measurement, and instrumentation tech used in scientific research and defense.

You will design, test, and iterate analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, create schematics, and support PCB layout. Collaboration with scientists and engineers drives product development from concept to working hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with electronic testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small engineering team.
• Experience with FPGA interfaces, embedded systems, C/C++, Python, or high-speed electronics is a plus.

About the Opportunity

Sydor Technologies is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Fairport, NY.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on specialized imaging, measurement, and instrumentation technologies used in scientific research, defense, and other demanding applications.

We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in electrical engineering who enjoys designing circuits, troubleshooting hardware, and seeing projects through from concept to working product.

What You'll Work On

Our engineering team supports a variety of technologies, including:

• High-speed X-ray and optical imaging systems
• Advanced timing and data acquisition electronics
• Analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuitry
• Ballistic measurement and testing instrumentation
• Custom electronic assemblies and PCB-based systems

What You'll Do
