Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a hardware sustaining/engineering specialist in New York to join our multidisciplinary team delivering end-to-end hardware solutions for consumer electronics.

You will conduct BoM scrubs, perform Change Impact Analysis, author ECOs, and coordinate with firmware teams to ensure robust releases. Requires 5+ years in hardware/industrial engineering and strong IPC/DFM expertise. On-site in NY with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 5+ years in hardware sustaining/product/test engineering in consumer electronics or hardware manufacturing.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence OrCAD).
• Experience with CAD/3D modeling tools for electromechanical design.
• Strong understanding of electronic component specs, datasheets, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with firmware/hardware integration and embedded systems, IPC standards, PLM/PDM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct full Bill of Materials (BoM) scrubs to identify at-risk and End-of-Life components and recommend alternates.
• Perform Change Impact Analysis on component changes with risk ratings.
• Author and execute ECO packages with updated schematics, PCB layouts, CAD models, and validation plans.
• Coordinate with firmware/software teams to validate releases against hardware configurations.
• Conduct 8D Failure Analysis investigations including containment actions and root-cause identification.
• Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and design teams to resolve field and production failures.
