Job summary

Sterling Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Wixom, MI operations. The role splits time between the engineering office and shop floor, turning customer schematics into quotes, production drawings and test plans.

You will support estimating, production and quality for cable harnesses, control panels and electronic assemblies in a hands-on environment. The position requires a bachelor’s or equivalent with 4+ years experience in related manufacturing, CAD proficiency, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience of 4+ years with an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in wire harness, control panel or electromechanical assembly manufacturing.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel prints.
• Experience building BOMs from customer drawings for estimating or production.
• Experience creating production drawings in CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical or similar).
• Experience writing SOPs and work instructions for assembly operators.
• Experience developing electrical test plans (continuity, hi-pot, functional).
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL 508A and NFPA 79.
• Clear written and verbal communication with customers, suppliers and shop-floor staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control panel prints.
• Create BOMs from customer documents for estimating and quoting.
• Develop production drawings for wire harnesses and panels; write SOPs and work instructions.
