Job summary
Sterling Technologies, Incorporated in Wixom, MI is seeking an Electrical Engineer to convert customer schematics into accurate production drawings, quotes, and test plans. This hands-on role blends office work with shop-floor activity, supporting cable harnesses, control panels, and electronic assemblies.
The candidate will work on BOM creation, CAD drawings, SOPs, and test planning while collaborating with engineering, purchasing, and quality to ensure on-time job launches and adherence to
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 4+ years with an Associate’s degree.
- Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel prints.
- Experience creating production drawings in CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Experience writing SOPs and work instructions for assembly operators.
- Experience developing electrical test plans (continuity, hi-pot, functional).
Responsibilities
- Read customer schematics and panel prints to prepare quotes and BOMs.
- Develop production drawings for harnesses, panels, and electronics.
- Write SOPs and work instructions for assembly processes.
- Support production with engineering changes, troubleshooting, and inquiries.
- Collaborate with customers and teams to launch new jobs on time.
