Job Title: Interconnection Engineer / Power System / Electrical Engineer

Location: Remote (PST hours)

Duration: 12+ Months

Description:

• Assist engineers in performing load interconnection studies, battery energy storage system charging table studies, and generation interconnection studies.
• Review Generation Interconnection Requests under the WDAT and Rule 21 Tariff, ensuring technical data completeness and appropriateness for studies. Evaluate Rule 21 or WDAT screens to determine if further studies are needed, including power flow, short-circuit duty, voltage analysis, etc., to ensure safety and reliability.
• Review load interconnection studies on existing infrastructure to determine capacity requirements and system enhancements.
• Conduct Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) charging table studies, analyze run cases, post-process results, and develop charging availability tables.
• Create one-line diagrams, study reports, and review Generation Interconnection Agreements as needed.

Required Skills/Attributes:

• Proficiency in PSLF, PowerWorld, Excel; ability to articulate results clearly.
• Experience with power system analysis studies, including power flow and short circuit analysis. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Desired Skills/Attributes:

• Experience with load and generation interconnection studies, power flow, short-circuit analysis, and technical reviews of NEM projects.
• Knowledge of the Rule 21 Tariff and WDAT.
• Experience with Google Earth Pro and power system analysis software (GE PSLF, PowerWorld, CAPE).

Education Requirement:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
