Position: Senior Electrical Engineer

Weston is seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in low to medium voltage distribution and power supply design for miscellaneous non-commercial applications. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in designing new systems and upgrading existing ones for applications such as electric vehicle charging, battery backup, solar power systems, pumps, and motors, with expertise in <13.2kV distribution systems.

The selected candidate will have a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary projects, leading electrical design from field reconnaissance and preliminary concepts through to construction and commissioning, emphasizing community learning and mentorship.

Location

Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas, Texas; West Chester, PA; Chicagoland Area, IL; or Concord, NH. Remote work considered for very strong applicants.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 15 years of related experience.
• Active Professional Engineer registration with NCEES, with the ability to obtain registration in other states as needed.
• Experience with industrial power supply systems, DOD power distribution design, EVSE, microgrids, solar facilities, backup generators, and batteries is a plus.
• Familiarity with non-manufacturing engineering consulting, environmental permitting, water treatment, and compliance projects is advantageous.
• Proficiency with analysis tools and software for evaluating pipe networks and electrical systems; familiarity with CAD programs such as AutoDesk Civil 3D, REVIT, and Plant3D is beneficial.
• Experience in bid evaluation, negotiation, and management for private and government projects.
• Experience with arc flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or similar software.
• Strong communication skills for report writing, proposals, and cost estimates.
• Ability to prepare and evaluate quotes, develop scopes of work, and manage subcontractors and vendors.
• Capability to respond to RFPs with technical and pricing proposals.
• Leadership skills to supervise engineering staff and coordinate project tasks.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for federal projects.
• Willingness to perform site visits and project assessments.
