Weston is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer with a background in low voltage distribution and power supply design required for miscellaneous non-commercial applications. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience in the design of new systems as well as upgrading existing systems to provide power for electric vehicle charging, battery backup, produced AC from solar systems, power for pumps and motors, and be versed in <600V power systems.

The selected candidate will have a proven track record working on multi-discipline projects, participating in electrical design from field reconnaissance and preliminary concept design through issued for construction and field commissioning of system installation, with a strong sense of community learning and mentorship.

Houston, Austin, San Antonio or Dallas, Texas; West Chester, PA; Chicagoland Area, IL; or Concord, NH (remote considered for very strong applicants only)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years related experience, preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with an active NCEES account and ability to quickly obtain registration in additional states as required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with various industrial systems power supply and DOD power distribution design. EVSE, microgrids, solar energy facilities, backup generators, backup battery systems, or data centers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with non-manufacturing engineering consulting, environmental permitting, water treatment, and compliance projects is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of analysis tools and modeling software to evaluate pipe networks and electrical systems. Understanding CAD programs including AutoDesk Civil 3D, REVIT, and Plant3D is a plus.
  • Experience preparing, issuing, evaluating, and negotiating construction bids for private and government projects.
  • Experience in completing arc flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or equivalent software. Capable of developing language for arc flash panel labels using studies or code tables for site energizing plans.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates.
  • Able to respond to client RFPs with technical approaches and market-competitive pricing for engineering, design, services during construction, and technical support during warranty periods.
  • Ability to communicate with engineering staff on design and technical tasks.
  • Possess (or able to obtain) a security clearance for work at Federal facilities.
  • Ability to perform site visits and bid walks with effective note-taking and clear field markups.

  • The PE is responsible for all engineering work requiring their seal or under their leadership, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
  • Adherence to Weston’s Engineering Design Quality Manual and helping project teams understand their responsibilities.
  • Participate as a leader in engineering competencies and mentor others.
  • Establish a company-wide contact list for project and program management to support project efforts.
  • Review and perform engineering calculations and analyses in conformance with the design manual.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects efficiently.
  • Assist in estimating and tracking project costs, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Develop leadership in design within the organization.
  • Coordinate and review data, reports, designs, and specifications.
  • Perform quality control checks on designs.
  • Lead proposal efforts and project cost development.
  • Participate in professional societies and interact with clients on project tasks.

Salary Range: $66,400 - $88,600 - $110,700
