Job summary

Amentum seeks an Electrical Engineer for the Williamsburg, VA area to lead and oversee complex facilities projects. The role requires strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to manage programs under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities include start-up and testing of control systems, capital project development, data analysis, field surveys, and coordination with architecture and construction teams. TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required; PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Valid Real ID Driver's license.
• 2 years' experience applying substantive electrical engineering in facilities operations.
• Must possess a current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• PM certification to manage government projects.
• Experience with PLC and DCS for process control and SCADA.
• Familiar with Honeywell and Carrier control systems.
• Knowledge of AC/DC electronics and project management practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• MS Office expertise.
• Experience with CMMS/MAXIMO.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, testing, troubleshooting and design of analog and digital control systems and facilities systems.
• Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs; direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing to ensure compliance.
• Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
• Conduct field surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams, and other data to identify and correct power system problems.
• Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specs and safety standards.
• Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specs.
• Oversee and coordinate operations, maintenance, repair, and inspections of all equipment and mechanical rooms.
• Coordinate maintenance, repair, and engineering for vertical transportation systems; oversee and coordinate activities with trade shops; prioritize work and inspect installations.
• Serve as SME for electrical system activities.
• Use design techniques to produce precision plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Coordinate with architecture, engineering, construction, and space planning for all equipment and mechanical rooms.
