Job summary

Georgetown University seeks an Electrical Engineer, Planning and Facilities Management, to provide engineering analysis, project oversight, and technical liaison work for the Georgetown Energy Partnership. The role ensures reliable, cost-effective electrical maintenance and code compliance across campus facilities and utilities.

Responsibilities include leading project development, optimizing electrical systems, and driving energy efficiency initiatives from concept through construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline; equivalent combinations accepted.
• 3+ years of progressive engineering experience in operations, design, maintenance, or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution and generation systems.
• Licensed as Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE).
• Preference for certifications such as CEM, BCxP, CCP, LEED AP, or LEED Green Associate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support project development and reviews for compliance with GU Standards and energy efficiency best practices.
• Identify and correct deficiencies to optimize medium and low voltage systems performance.
• Train maintenance staff on best practices for electrical system design and maintenance.
• Develop and track preventive maintenance for electrical systems focused on energy efficiency and safety.
• Develop capital plans and oversee execution of electrical projects and programs.
