Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a large campus facility in Prince George's County, MD. This on-site role partners with a senior electrical engineer to analyze, evaluate, and enhance medium-voltage infrastructure, including 13.8kV distribution networks, substations, switchgear, and protective relaying systems.

The ideal candidate holds an Electrical Engineering degree with an EIT and 5+ years in power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; EIT certification.
• 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering.
• Experience with medium-voltage distribution (13.8 kV) and substations.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA 70E, NEC, and NESC standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and enhance medium-voltage infrastructure and 13.8kV systems.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, and protection studies.
• Investigate outages and root causes; develop corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and campus stakeholders.
