Job summary

ThinkingAhead Executive Search is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our engineering team for the design of substations up to 500 kV. You will guide design teams and coordinate comprehensive design packages, reporting to the BPE Department Manager while interfacing with senior leadership.

The role requires a BS in electrical engineering and PE licensure, with strong NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE knowledge.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering (or related) is required.

Job description

Client is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. They will be an integral member of the team, responsible for the design of substations up to 500kV. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and analysis of electrical substations.

The candidate will be responsible for providing direction to other design team members to coordinate the development of overall design packages. The Senior Power System Engineer will report to the BPE Department Manager and work closely with senior leadership. They must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a BS degree in electrical engineering or related degree
• Desire/passion to work with a variety of customers in the energy industry
• Registration as a PE licensure
• Strong working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, recommended practices
• Provide field support for engineering and technical questions.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.
• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to time domain analysis.
