Job summary
Actalent seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical control systems for automated material handling equipment. You will develop specifications, device layouts, schematics, and control panel drawings, working with clients and internal teams to deliver robust automation solutions.
The role requires 3+ years in material handling, proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, and knowledge of UL508A/NFPA standards. Remote-eligible with travel.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
- 3+ years in the material handling industry.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for electrical designs.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients and internal project teams to define application requirements and produce specifications.
- Create electrical designs using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, including schematics and control panel drawings.
- Select components and prepare bills of material for projects.
- Coordinate ordering of field components and control panels to support timelines.
- Design interfaces for network I/O, VFDs, scanners, and scales.
- Customize products to meet project needs.
- Integrate electrical designs with controls engineers' work.
- Perform on-site checkout and commissioning with installation teams.
- Update drawings and documentation to as-built status.
