Job summary
Actalent, based in Arlington, TX, is seeking an Electrical Controls Design Engineer to lead industrial automation projects from concept through startup. The role combines electrical design, control panel design, PLC programming, and commissioning, offering ownership across the full lifecycle.
You will design electrical control systems, develop BOMs, program PLCs and HMIs, and support startup and commissioning work while traveling as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with industrial controls design and implementation.
- Strong AutoCAD Electrical and control panel design experience.
- PLC programming experience, preferably Allen-Bradley Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000.
- HMI development experience, ideally FactoryTalk View.
- Ability to support startup and commissioning activities with occasional travel.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical control systems, schematics, and control panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Develop BOMs, select hardware, and create documentation including FDS.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs in Allen-Bradley environments.
- Support panel testing, FAT/SAT, startup and commissioning.
- Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and project stakeholders to deliver automation solutions.
