Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer for a full-time contract role in Palm Bay, FL. The position involves airworthiness support with a strong system safety background, primarily DO-254 and DO-178 execution, with liaison to government customers to verify and validate safety requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, and has experience with safety analyses and interfaces

Responsibilities

• Generate System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessment Reports IAW MIL-STD-882E.
• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware, software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system.
• Work with Government customers to ensure System Safety requirements are defined and implemented for verification and validation.
• Document System Safety artifacts in DOORS and/or Cameo.
• Present system safety risk assessments at Customer design review meetings.

Systems Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract, Possible Contract to hire

Duration: 06-12 months

Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905

Schedule : 9/80 Reg

Responsibilities

• Airworthiness support with a system safety background, primarily DO-254 and D0-178 execution experience.
• Some training will have to be provided; mechanical, aeronautical, electrical, software background preferred
• Working knowledge of the following standards:
• DO-178 and DO-254 development processes
• ARP4754/ARP4761 and MIL-STD-882E
• MIL-HDBK-516
• USAF Airworthiness Circular 17-01 (AC-17-01)
• Familiarity with reliability assessments such as FMEA, FMECA, FTA, FRACAS and RCCA

Typical Tasks

• Generate System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessment Reports IAW MIL-STD-882E
• Consult with other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware, software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system
• Work closely with Government customers to ensure that the System Safety requirements are defined and implemented in a way that will allow for the verification and validation of the system
• Ability to internalize requirements definition and document System Safety artifacts in DOORS and/or Cameo
• Present system safety risk assessment at Customer design review meetings

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Skills

• Reporting hazardous materials (NAS-411)
• Assessing Human Machine Interfaces (MIL-STD-1472)
• STAMP/STPA

Employment Requirements

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis. 1099 contractors and Corp-to-Corp arrangements will not be considered for this position.

Compensation

Pay Range*: Between $60 - $65 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
