Job summary

Trinity Consultants Engineering & EHS Workforce Solutions seeks an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years in industrial power systems to design, maintain, and improve electrical equipment across plant operations.

You will work with engineering, design, maintenance, and management to support upgrades, reliability initiatives, and startups. Applicants should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and experience in petrochemical environments.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of industrial electrical power systems experience.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and levels.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical equipment (motors, starters, breakers, relay protection, transformers, switchgear).
  • Experience in petrochemical production units is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specification, design, and maintenance of electrical equipment for plant operations.
  • Develop maintenance and reliability strategies for electrical equipment.
  • Manage electrical plant modifications, switchgear/relay upgrades, MCC installations, UPS and substation batteries.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems (LV, MV, HV).
  • Investigate electrical equipment failures and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Develop electrical equipment specifications and reliability enhancements.
  • Support front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects.
  • Assist in developing maintenance and operating procedures for electrical equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry standards (API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, ASCE).
  • Understand electrical area classifications and safe installation in hazardous areas.
  • Understand process change requirements (Management of Change).

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provide specification, design, and maintenance of electrical equipment for all plant operations, including field installations.
  • Develop maintenance and reliability strategies related to electrical equipment.
  • Manage electrical plant modifications - switchgear and relay upgrades, MCC installations as well as UPS and substation battery systems.
  • Provide technical support for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of facility’s electrical systems and equipment (including low, medium, and high voltage equipment).
  • Investigate electrical equipment failures.
  • Recommend actions to enhance power systems and equipment reliability.
  • Develop electrical equipment specifications and reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects and change packages.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance and operating procedures for electrical equipment.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of industry standards (API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, ASCE).
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical area classifications, be familiar with acceptable methods of satisfying the requirements of equipment installations in hazardous areas.
  • Understand the requirements of process changes (e.g., Management of Change).
