Job Description

• Provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of high voltage distribution equipment and high voltage motors/generators.
• Respond and provide technical assistance to electrical equipment problems within the company‑owned facilities.
• Direct and oversee vendor shop repairs on high voltage motors and equipment to ensure quality.
• Issue repair reports at the conclusion of critical jobs for proper historical documentation.
• Identify engineered resolutions to recurring electrical issues.
• Improve plant/equipment reliability through historical trending and improved maintenance procedures.
• Lead and participate in Failure Analysis and Vulnerability studies.
• Execute equipment maintenance strategies (predictive and preventive).
• Ensure adherence to internal and national standards for specifying and maintaining equipment.
• Support training, coaching, and mentoring electrical field technicians and operations staff in the preventative maintenance and operation of electrical distribution and control systems.
• Maintain 100 % compliance with Safety and Environmental standards.
• Perform Electrical engineering power systems analysis calculations including motor starting/voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash, and load flow.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering Degree (minimum).
• Active PE license preferred.
• Minimum 6 years electrical engineering experience in operations and maintenance of large industrial plants.
• Working knowledge of SKM Power Tools for Windows engineering software preferred.
• Previous experience specifying and working on HV substation equipment, transformers, HV and LV motors and generators, motor control circuits, variable frequency drives, station battery, and UPS systems.
• Travel in North America 15–20 % of the time.
