Job description

We are hiring Electrical Engineers with strong power systems experience to support multiple client projects across the oil & gas, marine, industrial energy sectors. These roles focus heavily on electrical power distribution, equipment selection, and system reliability in operating facilities and capital projects.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and power system studies, and is comfortable working on gas plant or similar industrial facilities. Depending on background and interest, engineers may support design, project execution, troubleshooting, or a combination of all three.

Key Responsibilities
Power System Design & Analysis
  • Design and analyze electrical power systems including generation, distribution, and motor control systems.
  • Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, voltage drop, and relay coordination studies.
  • Develop and review one‑lines, electrical area classifications, grounding systems, and control interfaces.
  • Utilize tools such as ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerWorld, or similar modeling software.
Equipment Selection & Technical Support
  • Specify, evaluate, and select electrical equipment including switchgears, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, and protective relays.
  • Prepare and review technical bid packages, proposals, and vendor evaluations.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting electrical and power system issues in operating facilities.
  • Support energy optimization and reliability improvement initiatives.
Project Execution & Field Support
  • Support installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical power systems.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, civil, automation, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Supervise or support field activities, outages, and small projects as needed.
  • Assist with budget development, AFE estimates, and scope definition.
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, API, NERC as applicable).
  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices, safety requirements, and emerging power technologies.
  • Support documentation, technical reports, and presentations for internal and client‑facing use.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering within oil & gas, midstream, upstream, gas plants, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Strong experience with power distribution systems, switchgear, MCCs, and VFDs.
  • Hands‑on experience performing electrical studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of motor protection, protective relaying, and electrical equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
