We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team located at the Lockheed Martin Facilities in Orlando. Work is completed on-site only. A Professional Engineer license is NOT required for this position. The Electrical Engineer operates as part of the department's core production group to provide electrical design on a variety of complex projects, as well as mentoring and training junior staff.

A successful candidate should possess the necessary technical skills to:

• Design medium and low voltage power distribution systems and prepare one-line diagrams in coordination with Sr. Engineer
• Prepare load calculations, specify electrical equipment, and perform power, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, communication, and fire alarm system design, producing construction documents using REVIT
• Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit, voltage drop, transformer and generator sizing, battery sizing, conductor and conduit sizing, cable pulling tension, and conduit jam ratio
• Conduct photometry calculations for lighting using lighting software
• Perform short circuit and load flow analysis, overcurrent device coordination, and arc flash risk assessment using SKM Power Tools, and develop system recommendations and incident energy mitigation techniques
• Review and edit project specifications
• Participate in inter-discipline project coordination
• Implement efficient design strategies to promote project financial health and ensure work is within budget
• Contribute to project schedule milestones, identify scope creep, and coordinate with Sr. Engineer on schedule and cost impacts
• Assist in workload and resource forecasting for projects
• Visit construction sites to monitor progress, review shop drawings, attend meetings, respond to RFIs, and prepare field reports
• Follow quality control standards through designer checks and cross discipline reviews
• Contribute to improving department design standards
• Mentor and train junior staff, establishing a mentorship relationship with Sr. Engineer

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of NEC and local building and energy codes
• Proficiency in REVIT, SKM Power Tools, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft OneNote
• Positive, professional attitude focused on personal development and career growth
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in architecture and engineering
