Qualifications

• 10–12 years of experience in electrical engineering and electrical system studies.
• Strong experience in LV electrical distribution design.
• Experience with Power Distribution Panels, MCCs, VFDs, substations, transformers, 480V systems.
• Knowledge of NEC, UL 508A, IEEE standards and NFPA 70E.
• Cable sizing and conduit sizing calculations.
• Power and control panel design; lighting and grounding calculations.
• Cable tray sizing and layout; development of SLDs and drawings.
• Ability to develop BOMs and engineering information packages.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Job Summary

Intellectt Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in electrical distribution system design and power system studies for FMCG, manufacturing, and process plant environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with LV electrical distribution, power system studies, MCCs, VFDs, substations, transformers, electrical panels, and industrial electrical engineering design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical distribution systems for FMCG, manufacturing, and process plants.
• Perform power system studies for industrial plant electrical distribution systems.
• Develop electrical engineering designs and technical documentation.
• Discuss and align project scope and technical requirements with clients.
• Collect engineering inputs and develop complete engineering packages.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and site construction teams.
• Support electrical panel design and ensure compliance with UL 508A requirements.
• Develop and lead Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) activities.
• Support electrical installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Prepare engineering information packages, equipment documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 10–12 years of experience in electrical engineering and electrical system studies, preferably within process or manufacturing plants.
• Strong experience in LV electrical distribution system design.
• Experience with:
• Power Distribution Panels
• Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Substations
• Transformers
• 480V electrical systems
• Strong knowledge of NEC, UL 508A, IEEE standards, and NFPA 70E.
• Experience with cable sizing and conduit sizing calculations.
• Experience with power and control panel design.
• Experience with lighting and grounding calculations/design.
• Experience with cable tray sizing and layout.
• Ability to develop engineering information packages and BOMs.
• Experience developing and reviewing:
• Single‑Line Diagrams (SLDs)
• Elementary Drawings
• Equipment Arrangement Drawings
• Electrical Schematics
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical safety requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in FMCG, manufacturing, process plant, or industrial environments.
• Experience supporting electrical construction and commissioning activities.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

This is an onsite position in Decatur, Illinois. The selected candidate will work closely with engineering, project, vendor, and construction teams to support electrical design and project execution activities.
