The Electrical Project Engineer will provide critical support throughout project lifecycles, from initial design through production and commissioning, while building strong client relationships and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical schematics for air/liquid-cooled VFD systems, SCR drive systems, motor control centers, MV-switchgear, MV-VFD’s and control panels.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation including design calculations, equipment specifications, and installation guidelines.
  • Conduct short-circuits and arc-flash studies independently in accordance with IEEE and NFPA standards.
  • Perform load flow analysis, voltage drop calculations, and coordination studies.
  • Review and analyze customer electrical requirements and specifications.
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the company ERP system.
  • Provide technical support to production, quality assurance, and field service teams throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely acquisition of electrical components and equipment.
  • Participate in design reviews and value engineering initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards for Power Systems design and products.

  • Advanced degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license (advantageous).
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably in industrial power systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing VFD systems, motor controls, and power distribution equipment.
  • Background in project-based engineering with exposure to multiple project lifecycles.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for schematic design and documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
  • Must possess a foundational understanding of programming logic and control systems, with the ability to interpret and produce PLC drawings and follow control logic documentation.
  • Experience with electrical analysis software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Mathcad, or equivalent calculation tools.
  • In-depth understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E, and IEEE standards.
  • Strong knowledge of VFD drives (ABB, Siemens, Rockwell, Danfoss) PLCs, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with SCR drives, soft starters, motor protection relays, and medium voltage switchgear (advantageous).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents, P&IDs, and mechanical layout drawings.
  • Familiarity with industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, wastewater, power generation, dredging, mining, or marine applications.
  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
