Job summary

Gabletek Robotics and Controls Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and support industrial power distribution systems for manufacturing, automation, and commercial facilities in Auburn Hills, MI. You will work with project managers, field electricians, and customers to deliver high-quality electrical solutions from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience designing industrial electrical power distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, protective relays, power quality, grounding.
  • Experience performing electrical calculations and power system analysis.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and industrial electrical standards.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar electrical design software.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to support projects in manufacturing and industrial environments.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification; experience with SKM/ETAP/EasyPower is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop industrial electrical power distribution systems from concept through commissioning.
  • Prepare electrical construction packages, including one-line diagrams, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and installation details.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, arc flash coordination, and equipment sizing.
  • Specify transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, UPS systems, generators, VFDs, and protective devices.
  • Develop electrical distribution solutions for new installations, facility expansions, and modernization projects.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, project managers, field electricians, and customers throughout project execution.
  • Review customer specifications and ensure designs comply with project requirements.
  • Support installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field modifications as needed.
  • Assist with project estimating, equipment selection, vendor coordination, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable local electrical codes.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support during construction and startup.

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys designing, developing, and supporting industrial power distribution systems for manufacturing, automation, and commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power systems, electrical design, and field implementation while working alongside project managers, field electricians, and customers to deliver high-quality solutions.
