Tier4 Group seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead facility electrical infrastructure, reliability, and capital projects within a complex manufacturing environment. You will drive technical leadership, hands-on problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

The role covers medium- and high‑voltage distribution, substations, transformers, and backup power, plus ongoing reliability improvements and energy optimization.

Job description

As a highly experienced Electrical Engineer, you will lead infrastructure reliability, power distribution, and capital improvement initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment. This position will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical electrical systems while supporting facility growth, modernization, and long‑term asset performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for facility electrical infrastructure, including medium- and high-voltage distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, backup power systems, and related equipment.
• Support the ongoing reliability and performance of site electrical systems through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct and review power system analyses, including load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, and arc flash studies.
• Develop recommendations and corrective action plans resulting from system assessments and reliability evaluations.
• Support energy management and utility optimization efforts by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Evaluate facility infrastructure needs and participate in planning efforts related to equipment upgrades, capacity expansions, and capital investment projects.
• Partner with project teams throughout project lifecycles, including scope development, budgeting, design review, construction support, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Lead investigations into equipment failures, power quality issues, and other electrical reliability concerns.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Maintain technical documentation, electrical drawings, one‑line diagrams, and equipment records.
• Coordinate activities with outside engineering firms, contractors, equipment suppliers, and utility providers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and maintenance personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting industrial electrical systems within manufacturing, industrial processing, energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, food production, or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, power infrastructure, and industrial facility operations.
• Experience working with medium- and high‑voltage equipment and systems.
• Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience involving electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical safety standards and codes, including NEC, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
• Experience supporting reliability, maintenance, and operational improvement programs.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated experience supporting facility infrastructure projects and capital improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple functional groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting facilities with on‑site generation, utility operations, or distributed energy systems.
• Proficiency with electrical system modeling and analysis software such as SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or comparable tools.
• Experience performing or managing arc flash, coordination, short circuit, and load flow studies.
• Background in electrical capacity planning and infrastructure assessments.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance strategies and asset reliability programs.
• Experience overseeing electrical contractors and external engineering resources.
• Exposure to energy efficiency, sustainability, or utility reduction initiatives.
• Working knowledge of industrial automation, controls, PLCs, or manufacturing systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
