Existing buildings account for 40% of the world’s carbon emissions. At Millig Design Build, we are doing something about it.

We don’t just manage construction—we are revolutionizing the way projects are delivered. We are a design-build firm specializing in turnkey facility improvements that strive to transform aging, energy-draining structures into high-performance, net-zero environments. We’ve broken down the traditional silos between engineering, construction, and commissioning to eliminate finger-pointing, delays, and cost overruns.

If you are tired of the status quo and want to build projects that have a massive, tangible impact on the climate and our clients\' bottom lines, you belong with us.

How You Will Make an Impact

Millig Design Build is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to drive the design and implementation of high-performance electrical systems. You will serve as a key technical force, ensuring that electrical designs for complex retrofits and remodels are innovative, compliant, and seamlessly integrated into our decarbonization projects. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Design & Innovate: Develop comprehensive electrical designs for a variety of building types across commercial, public, and private sectors, with a heavy focus on remodels and retrofits. Design cutting-edge lighting upgrades and collaborate with the project team to ensure all electrical designs are clear, complete, and feasible.
  • Master the Documentation & Compliance: Develop and maintain meticulous project documentation, including electrical plans, specifications, and related documents. Review and approve electrical submittals and shop drawings, ensuring all electrical work is performed in strict compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate & Connect: Act as a central hub of communication, coordinating regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, the design team, subcontractors, and suppliers. Develop and cultivate relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to stay on the cutting edge of new technologies and products.
  • Lead & Support: Provide vital technical guidance and support to other members of the project team as needed, ensuring a collaborative and successful project delivery.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Targeted Experience: 5-10 years of experience in electrical design for commercial and industrial projects, with the most experience heavily focused on building remodels.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical design principles and practices, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and building automation systems. Proficient in lighting design and controls, generator system design, and energy modeling of building systems.
  • Software & Standards: Extensive knowledge of electrical codes and regulations, including NEC. Highly proficient in utilizing Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Studio, with the ability to expertly read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Leadership & Autonomy: Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Capable of working highly independently while also functioning seamlessly as part of a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively align clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Education & Requirements: Associate degree or a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. A valid driver\'s license is required, as frequent travel is a part of this role.
