Henderson Scott is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for an aerospace and defense client in Torrance. The role focuses on owning hardware from requirements to production across analog, digital and embedded systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with software, firmware, mechanical and systems teams, and ensure compliant designs for demanding aerospace environments. Mostly onsite with limited hybrid flexibility.

Senior Electrical Engineer | Aerospace & Defense

Working Pattern: Mostly onsite / some hybrid flexibility

Level: Electrical Engineer III+

I'm working with a growing aerospace and defense technology business in Torrance that is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone with a strong Defense or Aerospace electronics background who enjoys owning complex projects while also mentoring and developing less experienced engineers.

What you'll be doing

• Design and develop complex electrical and electronic systems across multiple concurrent projects
• Own hardware from requirements and architecture through schematic, bring-up, qualification and production
• Work across analog, digital, embedded and mixed-signal electronics
• Design and qualify electronics for demanding aerospace and defense environments
• Support design reviews, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and technical decision making
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and early-career engineers
• Work closely with software, firmware, mechanical and systems engineering teams

What we're looking for

• Experienced Electrical Engineer, ideally Level III or above
• Strong Aerospace or Defense electronics background
• Hands-on experience with MIL-STD-461 and/or DO-160
• Demonstrated success handling multiple concurrent engineering projects
• Strong PCB, analog/digital or embedded electronics experience
• Genuine interest and experience in mentoring junior engineers
• Able to work predominantly onsite in Torrance
• Must meet applicable U.S. export-control requirements
• DoD security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is highly desirable
