Job summary

Stealth Mode, an Aerospace & Defense startup based in Gardena, CA, seeks an Electrical Engineer to own design, manufacturing, and integration of electronics powering ground support equipment for air defense platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Experience with high-speed digital electronics and embedded MCUs is essential.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred) is required.
• Experience with aerospace/defense/robotics/automotive electronics is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC, thermal, shock and vibration constraints is expected.

Responsibilities

• Own design and manufacturing processes for custom harnesses for vehicle platforms.
• Support design of embedded vehicle systems including power, compute, sensing, actuation and comms.
• Serve as primary contact for manufacturing issues on electrical assemblies.
• Determine layer stackup, component selection, placement, routing feasibility and signal routing on PCBs.
• Create and release fabrication documentation for PCBs.
• Own schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, and design reviews.
• Manage board-level bring-up, debugging, and validation in lab and field tests.
• Guide manufacturing, testing and assembly with internal and external vendors.
• Establish test procedures for validation, environmental, and EMC/ESD qualification.

Role Overview

As an electrical engineer you will own the design, manufacturing, and integration of the electronics that power our next-generation ground support equipment for air defense platforms. You will have an opportunity for significant system ownership and to be a key contributor to design and architecture.

You’ll work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver the best in-class electronic systems. If you want to build complex hardware on systems that matter—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and manufacturing processes for custom harnesses for vehicle platforms.
• Support design of embedded vehicle systems including power, compute, sensing, actuation, and communication subsystems
• Act as the primary point of contact for any manufacturing issues on electrical assemblies
• Determine layer stackup, perform component package selection, component placement, routing feasibility studies, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF, and power conversion of printed circuit boards (PCB)
• Create and release documentation for fabrication of PCBs
• Own schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, and design review
• Manage board-level bring-up, debugging, and validation in lab and field test environments
• Guide board-level manufacturing, testing, and assembly processes (both in-house and external vendors)
• Establish test procedures for validation, environmental, and EMC/ESD qualification

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Strong experience with Altium Designer or similar CAD system (KICAD, EAGLE, CADENCE)
• Experienced with High-speed digital electronics, embedded microcontrollers, RF components, power electronics, digital buses (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C), sensor integration
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and testing electronics for aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive systems
• Proficiency in schematic capture, layout (Altium), and board-level signal and power integrity design
• Familiarity with environmental design constraints including thermal, EMI/EMC, shock, and vibration

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in avionics or high-reliability hardware systems
• Proven experience delivering complex, multi-board avionics or embedded systems from concept to production
• Familiarity with Military standards for system design and qualification
• Experience in design-for-manufacture and supply chain planning for high-mix, low-volume aerospace production
• Experience with rapid prototyping, in-house assembly, and validation test campaign.
• Prior work in systems where the hardware must survive extreme environments (missiles, launch vehicles, hypersonic systems, satellites)

ITAR

• 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.
• 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Compensation

Salary: $ 160000- $200000+ Equity + Benefits ( Healthcare, Vision, Dental, 401k, and Lunch)
