National Grid is offering two Summer Intern openings in Syracuse, NY. The position focuses on drafting and detailing with a starting pay rate of $28.79 per hour.

Interns will gain exposure to a broad range of technical and operational opportunities while developing professional networking connections. Under direct supervision, you will draft and detail drawings, revise plans, and assist in field visits and print distribution.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an applicable Electrical Engineering Technology program at an accredited school.
• 3.0 cumulative GPA at time of application, undergraduate students.
• 3.2 cumulative GPA at time of application, graduate students.
• 18 credits or more toward completion of program enrolled in.
• 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
• Registered as a full-time student.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with computer aided drafting (CAD), specifically MicroStation is a benefit.
• Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.

Description:

The position is located in Syracuse, NY. We currently have two Summer Intern openings available. The starting pay rate for this position is $28.79 per hour. As an intern, you will gain exposure to a wide range of technical and operational opportunities. You will also acquire critical insight into our company and our industry, as well as have the chance to develop valuable networking connections, which will help prepare and develop your skills for future career opportunities.

Under direct supervision, perform drafting and elementary detailing involving no original design of plans and drawings for construction projects of all types, and of diagrams, and perform such duties as:

• Prepare finished drawings including schematics, plans, elevations, and wiring diagrams designed by others


• Revise existing drawings including schematics, plans, elevations, and wiring diagrams in accordance with as-built information


• Assist drafters and designers of a higher classification as needed


• Assist in ordering and distributing prepared prints


• Assist in field visits as needed

Pay Rate: $28.79/hr
