Job summary

Los Alamos County is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager in the Utilities/Electric Distribution department. Under the Deputy Utility Manager-Electric Distribution, you will plan, design and implement improvements to the electric distribution system to enhance reliability, and oversee fault studies, loads forecasts and system coordination.

You will coordinate with operations personnel to improve performance and safety, while maintaining confidentiality of privileged information and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• Five years of experience in electric distribution design and operations.
• Two years of supervisory experience across job-related areas.
• NM Professional Engineer license or eligibility; ability to obtain NM licensure within 6 months.
• Must obtain and maintain NM Class D driver's license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs and implements improvements to the electric distribution system to optimize reliability.
