Job summary

Public Power in New Mexico is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead design and improvements to the electric distribution system, ensuring reliability and safety.

Reporting to the Deputy Utility Manager Electric Distribution, the role handles fault studies, load forecasts, and coordination with operations. A New Mexico PE license or eligibility is required, plus a valid NM Class “D” license and extensive leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• 5 years of electric distribution design and operations experience.
• 2 years of supervisory experience across all job-related years.
• NM PE license or eligibility to become registered in NM within 6 months.
• Must possess or obtain NM Class D driver’s license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement improvements to the electric distribution system to improve reliability.
• Oversee fault studies, load forecasts and system coordination.
• Coordinate with operations personnel to improve system performance and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
