Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC in Greenville, MS, seeks a Distribution Designer I–Sr to design overhead and underground distribution facilities, meeting customers to determine needs and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders. Responsibilities include estimating costs, preparing drawings, and aiding in storm restoration.

Design experience ranges from entry to senior levels, with travel requirements and a focus on safety and codes.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication.
• Good knowledge of personal computer operations and related software.
• Basic theory of electricity; ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Self-motivated and dependable team player.
• Good math skills.
• Familiar with NEC and NESC standards.
• Must follow Entergy safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial customers, including meeting with customers, designing overhead/underground extensions, estimating costs, preparing construction drawings, and coordinating construction.
• Lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations (load studies, fault current, voltage drop, etc.) to aid planning and corrective measure projects.
• Provide leadership and technical support to operations and ensure compliance with distribution design standards.
• Assist Right of Way with permits and ROW documents.
• Support storm restoration efforts as needed.
